Introduction
Princess Yilun was the granddaughter of the Ming Dynasty's founding emperor, Zhu Yuanzhang. Her father was Crown Prince Yiwen Zhu Biao, and her mother's details are unknown. In 1392, Zhu Biao passed away. In 1399, her brother Zhu Yunwen ascended the throne, but there are no records of her being conferred as a princess at that time. Her fourth uncle Zhu Di initiated the Jingnan Campaign, overthrowing Zhu Yunwen and ascending the throne as Ming Chengzu; the following year, the reign era was changed to Yongle. In the 15th year of Yongle (1417), Princess Yilun was married off to a noble. In the 8th year of Zhengtong (1443), in July, Emperor Yingzong ordered the removal of the stipends for the 100 households of the Nanjing Imperial Forest Left Guards, instructing them to serve his mother, Princess Yilun, which indicates that the princess had already passed away by that time. In the 14th year of Zhengtong (1449), in January, the princess once petitioned the court to pre-prepare a burial site, but Yingzong rejected her request, citing the matter as contrary to established custom.
