Introduction
Prince Heqin Yongbi (Yung Bi); born July 23, 1733—died April 4, 1772, 11th year of Yongzheng era. He was the son of Prince Heqin Hongzhou. His mother was Nurhaci’s daughter, concubine Wu Zhaku. He belongs to the second generation of the Prince Heqin lineage.
Main Life Points:
- Birth and Lineage: There are two recorded birth dates: born at noon on June 13, 1733, during the 11th year of Yongzheng; another record infers a Gregorian date of July 23, 1733. His father was Prince Gongxun Hongzhou, and his mother was Wu Zhaku.
- Official Titles and Ranks: In December of the 21st year of Qianlong (1757), he was bestowed the title of Bu Ru Ba Fen Support Guogong. In April of the 24th year of Qianlong, he was ordered to pay respects to the Morin Dawa’s prince Ala Butan who had fallen ill. In October of the 35th year of Qianlong (1770), he inherited the title of Prince Heqin; as per tradition, he walked through the Qianqing Gate and was not required to wear a feathered hat daily, only when departing on official expeditions. In December of the 36th year of Qianlong, due to his illness, the Mongol Tumed Banner affairs overseen by the Imaginary Yellow Banner Mongol Duzun were temporarily assigned to Prince Wù. He died on the second day of the third lunar month, in the 37th year of Qianlong (1772), at the age of 40. Since he could not have his eldest son Mianlun inherit the title, his princely title was downgraded to a commandery prince.
- Family and Spouses: His primary wife was Borjigit (Borjigit clan), daughter of Lord Gongcheng Buren Tai; his secondary wife was Li Jia (Li Jia clan), daughter of Tanguse. The China National Archives holds records dated October 8 of the 40th year of Qianlong regarding Mianxun’s petition for recognition of his mother's title and the posthumous granting to his secondary wife.
Children and Marriages:
- Eldest daughter, Countess: On June 14, the 41st year of Qianlong, Minister of Rites Yonggui suggested, in the name of Zunyue, that her mother’s firstborn daughter be granted the title of Countess. Her son-in-law, Bardan, was appointed as the Countess’s escort according to tradition.
- Ninth daughter, Countess: In August of the 46th year of Qianlong, the Ministry of Rites awarded the ninth daughter of Prince Heqin, Gege, the rank of Countess Escort; related official records are preserved in the Inner Court and related archives.
