Introduction
Prince Shou Ding Zhu Youxian, the ninth son of Emperor Xianzong of the Ming Dynasty, was born on December 2, 1481. In the fourth year of Hongzhi (1491), he was granted the title of Prince Shou. In the eleventh year of Hongzhi (1498), he was enfeoffed at Baoning Prefecture, and in the seventeenth year (1504), his fief was transferred to De'an Prefecture. He died in the twenty-fourth year of Jiajing (1545), and was posthumously titled Prince Shou Ding; he left no children, and the throne was succeeded by the heir. Zhu Youxian was buried in Xishan in the capital city, alongside Empress Xu and the empress consort Wu. The princess consort, Lady Xu, died early and was initially buried at Shilong Mountain in Ying County, Huguang. After her death, she was reinterred in Xishan in the capital city by court officials, and her coffin was moved to be buried with the prince.
