Introduction

Yinhe, the eighteenth son of the Kangxi Emperor of the Qing Dynasty, was born to Consort Wang. His birth date is recorded differently in historical sources; the most common notation is May 15, 1701 (Gregorian calendar), while some sources cite the eighth day of the fourth lunar month. His place of birth is not explicitly mentioned in the official records.

After his birth on the eighth day of the fourth lunar month in the forty-first year of Kangxi’s reign (1701), Yinhe held the status of a prince within the royal family. In the forty-seventh year of Kangxi’s reign (1708), in May, he accompanied his father and royal brothers on a patrol to the northern frontier. In July, he traveled with his father and brothers to Mulan for military inspections. In August, Kangxi and his entourage stayed at Yong'an Boyang'a; Yinhe remained there for medical treatment due to illness. On the day of the Renxu (Death) cycle, his condition worsened, and the Emperor returned to visit. On the fourth day of the ninth lunar month, Yinhe died of mumps at the age of only 8.

During Yinhe’s severe illness, Kangxi Emperor personally administered care and treatment. His elder brother, Crown Prince Yinren, was present and admonished the Emperor; historical records note that this event was considered one of the triggers for Kangxi’s first attempt to dethrone the Crown Prince.

Yinhe was buried in Jingling Princess’s Tomb.

In television portrayals, Yinhe is portrayed by Yang Manhua in the series "Gong Suo Xin Yu."
