Ma Rong

Mǎ Róng, born on August 8, 1986, in Linwei District, Weinan City, Shaanxi Province. She was admitted to the School of Journalism and Communication at Northwest University in 2004, majoring in broadcasting hosting. During her time at university, Mǎ Róng received professional training, establishing a solid foundation in editing, reporting, and hosting, and she was active in various on-campus and extracurricular activities.

In 2007, Mǎ Róng began an internship at Beijing Television, working as a director and reporter simultaneously. During this period, she met the entertainment industry figure Wáng Bǎoqiǎng. In February 2008, Wáng Bǎoqiǎng publicly acknowledged that the two had started a romantic relationship. In June of the same year, after graduating from Northwest University, Mǎ Róng remained in Beijing to develop her career.

In her personal life, Mǎ Róng began dating Wáng Bǎoqiǎng in 2007, and the couple married two years later, with one son and one daughter. They appeared together publicly at the Cannes Film Festival on May 17, 2013, displaying affectionate interaction. She celebrated her birthday publicly on August 8, 2013, expressing happiness. On April 23, 2015, Wáng Bǎoqiǎng gifted Mǎ Róng diamond jewelry as a sign of love. On August 14, 2016, Wáng Bǎoqiǎng issued a statement accusing Mǎ Róng of having an extramarital affair with his agent, Sòng Zhé, leading to a divorce lawsuit filed in Beijing courts. In 2018, the court ruled to dissolve the marriage, awarding custody of the children to Wáng Bǎoqiǎng. Mǎ Róng’s claim for defamation was not supported.
