Introduction
He Liming, born in the 1950s, is a native of Sangzhi, Hunan Province. She is the third daughter of Marshal He Long of the People's Liberation Army and one of his sixth children. Her family members include her elder sister He Jiesheng, as well as He Xiaoming and her brother He Pengfei.
He Liming's educational background includes graduating from Beijing Foreign Trade University after the end of the Cultural Revolution. Her early career began in 1983 when she worked as a secretary in the affairs department of Guangda Industrial Company in Hong Kong. During the Cultural Revolution, her family suffered hardships; her sister He Jiesheng was in Qinghai, while her brother He Pengfei and sister He Xiaoming were in Beijing. Due to her father's political issues, they were unable to stay in Beijing and sought refuge on transport ships in Tianjin and Shanghai. He Liming was secretly sent to Liao Chengzhi's home for safety and received care and protection from the Liao family.
During the Cultural Revolution, her family endured multiple political persecutions. He Pengfei fell seriously ill and was later sent to a juvenile detention facility for political reasons, during which he suffered from a heart condition. Due to her father's political status, He Liming was classified as a political supervisee and faced struggle sessions and physical abuse, leaving permanent scars on her waist. The family experienced significant suffering during this period.
After the Cultural Revolution ended, He Liming gradually engaged in work and public affairs. She co-founded the He Long Sports Foundation with her sister He Xiaoming, aimed at promoting mass participation in sports and fitness, emphasizing recreational activities over competitive sports. She also served as the president of the China National Trade Promotion Association, which was renamed in 2005 from the China National Trade and Economics Research Association, under the guidance of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, the Ministry of Commerce, and the Ministry of Civil Affairs. On April 23, 2010, she participated in the National Member Congress in Beijing and was appointed President of the China National Trade Promotion Association.
In recent years, He Liming has also served as Chairwoman of Dasheng International Sports Investment Group. In 2010, she delivered a speech at the opening ceremony of the China (Chongqing) International Food Expo. On August 7, 2011, she was received by Jiang Youwei, Secretary of the Liaoyuan Municipal Party Committee, and was presented with Dongfeng Farmer Paintings.
In summary, He Liming’s career has primarily involved sports and trade sectors, actively promoting mass participation in sports and playing roles in international trade and sports investment industries.
