Introduction
Liu Wu is the grandson of Zhu De, a founding father of the People’s Republic of China and the first of its Ten Marshals. He is the son of Zhu Min, Zhu De’s only daughter, who studied at the Moscow Lenin Teachers College in the Soviet Union before returning to China to teach in the Russian Department at Beijing Normal University.
Liu Wu joined the People’s Liberation Army at a young age and is a member of the Chinese Communist Party. He served for many years in the military, holding several key positions, including Deputy Director of a department under the General Staff Department of the PLA, with the rank of Senior Colonel.
Throughout his military career, Liu Wu was known for his dedication and professionalism, contributing to military administration and command operations. After retirement, he continued to take part in commemorative activities honoring the Red Army and China’s revolutionary history.
Liu Wu and his wife, Xu Kemin, once visited and took a commemorative photo at the former site of the “Baisha Red Army Headquarters” in Gulin, Luzhou, Sichuan, expressing respect for Zhu De and the Red Army legacy. He currently resides mainly in Beijing and maintains a quiet and modest lifestyle.
