Introduction

Duanhui Anrong Jingfei (unknown, born approximately in the 16th century), was from Yingtian Prefecture. She was the daughter of Lu Hui, a deputy commander of the Jinyiwei (Embroidered Uniform Guard). She was a consort of Emperor Shizong of the Ming Dynasty Zhu Houcong, and the mother of the Fourth Prince Jinggong Wang Zhu Zai Zhen. Her date of birth and entry into the palace have not been verified. The alley where she once resided was called "Lu Fei Alley" or "Meiren Alley," located in Qinhuai District, Nanjing, along Hongwu Road. In the 1920s, Lu Fei Alley was home to Renyu Hospital and a women's specialized teachers' college.

On the ninth day of the ninth month of the fifteenth year of the Jiajing Emperor's reign (1536), Lu was promoted to Jingpin (a ranking of imperial consort) and was formally titled Jingpin Lu Shi. On February 29 of the sixteenth year of Jiajing (1537), she gave birth to her fourth son, Jinggong Wang Zhu Zai Zhen. On April 23 of the same year, Emperor Jiajing decreed once again inside the Hall of Sanctification (Qintian Hall) that Lu Shi be promoted to Jingfei (imperial concubine) and granted the title "Jingfei" as the mother of the emperor's child. Records from the 16th year of Emperor Shenzong of Ming (1588), the Wanyan era, indicate that she passed away on the intercalary seventh day of the sixth month, and she was buried at the Dao Tomb on Tianshou Mountain, Ao'er Gorge, in Beijing, with the posthumous title "Duanhui Anrong Jingfei" (Duanhui Anrong — virtuous, kind, and auspicious; Jingfei — peaceful and respectful concubine).
