Crystal Choi

Cai Jiayi, originally from Xinheng Town, Jieyang County, was born in 1981 in Hong Kong. She completed her primary and secondary education in Hong Kong with good academic results, then went to the United States to study at Boston College, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Information Technology, and later obtained a Master’s degree in Corporate Finance from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

In September 2003, Cai Jiayi formally joined her father Cai Zhiming’s Xu Ri Group, working in the toy manufacturing business and participating in Hong Kong property and license plate auctions, among other activities. In April 2005, her father invested in Kangjian International, and Cai Jiayi was appointed Director of Corporate Financing. In December of the same year, Kangjian International issued HK$60 million in convertible bonds to Xinghong Holdings Limited; if fully exercised, these bonds would dilute Kangjian’s post‑dilution equity to 55.79%.

In 2006, Cai Jiayi was promoted to Executive Director and Chairman; in November 2006, she became an Executive Director of Hong Kong Health Check and Medical Diagnostics Holdings Limited. At the age of 25, the media reported that she was one of the youngest chairmen of a listed company.

Regarding her work plans, Cai Jiayi promoted Kangjian International’s expansion in the Asian market, planning to develop in Mainland China, Taiwan, and Singapore, and to establish a liaison office in Shenzhen to expand the domestic market; she also paid attention to the development potential of Macau and Southeast Asia. She has held multiple positions, including: Executive Director of Hong Kong Kangjian International Holdings Limited; Executive Director of Hong Kong Health Check and Medical Diagnostics Holdings Limited; Director of Xu Ri International Group Limited; Director of Xu Ri (Cai family) Group Limited; Director of Anji Si Kindergarten and International Kindergarten; member of the Committee of the Hong Kong Listed Companies Association; Vice Chairman of the Youth Professional Committee of the Hong Kong Professionals Association; and Honorary President of the Sha Tin Junior Police Call.

In 2008, after reports of a scandal involving explicit photos became public, Cai Jiayi filed a defamation lawsuit, alleging the other party had defamed her, demanding the reports be deleted and an apology and compensation; she stated that she had no connection to the incident. She is a member of the Hong Kong Jockey Club and has owned a horse named “Fire Sun.”
