Introduction
Princess Changning was born in 1387 and died on April 5, 1408. She was the fifth daughter of Emperor Ming Chengzu Zhu Di, with her mother's identity unknown. In the fourth year of Jianwen (1402), she was titled Princess Changning. In the first year of Yongle (1403), she married Mu Xin, the son of Marquis of Xiping Mu Ying. The princess was known for her reverent and polite demeanor, and she was well-versed in the Classic of Filial Piety, the Book of Women, and the Biographies of Women. In the spring of the sixth year of Yongle (1408), she passed away at the age of twenty-two or twenty-three. Emperor Ming Chengzu deeply mourned her death. Limited historical records mention her descendants; it is only known that her grandson Mu Ju studied at the Imperial Academy during Hongzhi's sixth year.
