Introduction
Frances Anne Georgina Ponsonby (1817β1910) was the daughter of William Ponsonby, 1st Baron de Mauley, who was the son of Frederick Ponsonby, 3rd Earl of Bessborough. The Bessborough line included Lady Caroline Lamb, an English writer, who was also the daughter of Frederick Ponsonby. William Lamb, 2nd Viscount Melbourne, was a British politician and the husband of Lady Caroline Lamb.
