Introduction
Lu Futan (January 1891 – November 7, 1969), also known as Li Yi and Li Yanmo, courtesy name Tengguang. A native of the Old Town of Tai’an, Shandong Province. An early member of the Communist Party of China, he served as a standing member of the CPC Central Committee’s Politburo and as secretary of the CPC Shandong Provincial Committee; later he defected from the CPC. He was arrested in 1951, detained for a long period, and was executed during the Cultural Revolution.
