William Story

William Story was born in 1614 and died before January 18, 1703. He was the progenitor of a lineage that includes Samuel Story, his son, born in 1660 and presumed to have died around 1726; Stephen Story, Samuel’s son, born in 1697 in Ipswich, Massachusetts, and who died in 1766 in Bennington; and further descendants extending to Philippa Story, born on May 21, 1726, in Ipswich, Massachusetts. Philippa, the daughter of Stephen, was the mother of Hepzibah Wood, born on April 14, 1747, in Franklin and deceased on May 11, 1783, in Bennington; who in turn was the mother of Nathaniel Fillmore, an American farmer born in 1771 and who lived until 1863; Nathaniel was the father of Millard Fillmore, who served as President of the United States from 1850 to 1853.
