Lord William Stuart

He was born on 18 November 1778 as the fifth son of John Stuart, 1st Marquess of Bute. His father, John Stuart, was a descendant of Prime Minister John Stuart, 3rd Earl of Bute. His mother was the Honorable Charlotte Jane Windsor, daughter of Herbert Windsor, 2nd Viscount Windsor.

**Military Career**
