Introduction
Jiao Yuanpu was born in Taiwan and is currently a program host at Taichung Classical Music Radio. His main work includes presenting and editing radio programs, writing, radio production, concert programming, and music composition. He has also been involved in arranging and performing music, providing music, arrangements, and performance recordings for Kang Hsuan’s junior-high-school Chinese-language teaching materials.
Education: In October 2007, Jiao began doctoral studies in musicology at King’s College London, focusing on changes in piano performance style and the impact of recordings on musical interpretation. During his studies he explored how musical expression and technical developments affect performance style and musical understanding, which provided an academic foundation for his subsequent musical work.
Family: Jiao’s father is Jiao Renhe, who served as vice chairman and secretary of Taiwan’s Straits Exchange Foundation. Jiao Renhe has visited the mainland several times and held consultations with mainland Association for Relations Across the Taiwan Straits officials on cross-strait development and exchanges. Jiao has two younger sisters, the Taiwanese singer Zhang Xuan (whose name is Jiao Anpu) and Jiao Cipu.
Currently, Jiao Yuanpu works in Taiwan as a radio host and is involved in music production and cultural exchange, covering broadcasting, concert planning, and academic research.
