Introduction

Percy Charles Wyndham was born on 27 September 1757 and died on 5 August 1833. He was an English politician and a member of the Wyndham family. His father was Charles Wyndham, the 2nd Earl of Egremont, and his mother was Alicia Maria, the daughter of the 2nd Baron Carpenter. Percy Wyndham had a brother named Hon. Charles William Wyndham.

He received his education at Westminster School, where he studied from 1765 until 1774. Following his secondary education, he attended Christ Church at the University of Oxford in 1774.

Wyndham served as a Member of Parliament for the borough of Chichester from 1782 to 1784. He lost his parliamentary seat in the 1784 election, partly due to his support for Charles James Fox. Later, in the 1790 election, his older brother, the 3rd Earl of Egremont, returned both Percy Wyndham and Charles William Wyndham as MPs for the pocket borough of Midhurst. During his time in Parliament, Wyndham continued to support Charles James Fox.

In 1795, the Earl of Egremont sold his interest in the borough of Midhurst. Following this change, Percy Wyndham did not seek re-election in the 1796 parliamentary election.
