Zhang Weiwei

Zhang Weiwei is the youngest daughter of Zhang Chunqiao. Among his four children, she has appeared in public the most and is considered relatively ordinary.

Her schooling and job assignment followed the same process as other young students, without any special privileges. Through her own efforts, she became the Youth League Secretary at the Light Industry Bureau, making her a young cadre.

In terms of marriage, in 1975, despite Zhang Chunqiao holding the position of Vice Premier, Zhang Weiwei chose to marry a security officer at a Shanghai cotton factory. The couple initially lived in an 18-square-meter room allocated by the factory, leading a modest and simple life.

Her father did not intervene to secure better housing or benefits, and Zhang Weiwei herself never made special requests to her work unit. In fact, at that time, few people even knew she was the daughter of the Vice Premier.

After Zhang Chunqiao was placed under investigation in 1976, Zhang Weiwei’s life was largely unaffected, as she had never relied on her father’s status. Known for her modest and gentle character, she lived a generally smooth life.
