Chen Dayu, born in 1988, is a Chinese performing artist. His family members include his father Chen Peisi, mother Wang Yanling, grandfather Chen Qiang, uncle Chen Buda, and aunt Chen Lida. His family has a certain influence in China's comedy industry; his father Chen Peisi is a well-known actor and comedy performer.

In his early years, Chen Dayu received basic education in China. In 2007, due to his outstanding performance in science subjects such as mathematics, physics, and chemistry during high school, he was sent to the United States to continue his studies, majoring in biology. After two years of study, he gave up his biology major and further pursued dramatic arts in Canada, laying the foundation for his future career in entertainment.

In 2010, Chen Dayu returned to China to study drama under the guidance of his father, Chen Peisi. Starting with the "Comedy Performance Apprentice Training Class" initiated by Chen Peisi, he began to participate in comedy performances, appearing in several works, including "Balcony" and "Nanny." During this period, he systematically mastered comedy theories and acting skills, participating in approximately 200 performances. Additionally, he played minor roles in his father’s television dramas, gaining rich experience in performing arts.

Major milestones in his entertainment career include performing in the sketch "Old Face, New Eat" at the Beijing Television Spring Festival Gala on January 25, 2020, and participating in the comedy creation show "It's Really Nice to Laugh" in May 2020. In 2021, he co-starred with his father in the New Year micro-movie "Nudge," marking his first collaboration on a large public platform with his father. On November 18 of the same year, his play "A Dream of Surprising" was staged at the Shanghai Grand Theatre, his first full theatrical performance with his father on stage. The following day, November 19, he directed the play "Spring Night Defense" in Hangzhou, which won him the first "Beijing Drama New Power Potential Creator" award.

On August 18, 2022, Chen Dayu starred in the play "A Dream of Surprising," which was performed again at the National Grand Theatre, portraying a wealthy and fan of folk operas entitled a prodigal son. On July 25, 2025, the film "The Opera Stage" starring him was released.

Regarding his personal life, Chen Dayu held a wedding in Beijing in October 2014. His wife was a returnee girl working at Chen Peisi's company. Coming from a family with deep roots, his parents are Chen Peisi and Wang Yanling, and his family also includes his grandfather Chen Qiang, uncle Chen Buda, and aunt Chen Lida.
