Zou Jiali was born in June 1930 in Wanyifang, Nanjing Road, Chongqing. She was the only girl in a family of five. In 1946, at the age of 16, she participated in the establishment of the Taofen Library, responsible for clipping materials and organizing books. In 1958, to care for her mother who lived alone, she transferred to Shanghai Literature and Art Publishing House, beginning a lengthy career as an editor that lasted over thirty years. During this time, she established profound communication with her father, Zou Taofen. She inherited her father's excellent tradition as a renowned publisher, achieving remarkable success in editing work. In 2015, her compiled volume, "Zou Taofen Chronology Biography," won the first prize of the Shanghai Book Award. Jiang Zengpei, president of Shanghai Literature and Art Publishing General Corporation, praised her for inheriting and promoting the Taofen Spirit, systematically, comprehensively, and accurately organizing her father's works, and for pioneering unprecedented achievements.
