Introduction

Zhuangxi Duansu Consort, also known as Yang Anfei, was born on July 18, 1414, and died on November 12, 1487. She was from Liaoyang, the daughter of Yang Boyan, and the niece of Yang Guang, a deputy commander of the Right Guard. She was a consort of Ming Yingzong Zhu Qizhen and the mother of Princess Chongde. Her father, Yang Boyan, was an official, and her younger brother, Yang Fuan, held the rank of a sixth-grade officer in the Imperial Guards.

Yang Anfei was born in the twelfth year of the Yongle reign (1414), to a mother named Zhang. In the second year of the Xuande reign (1427), Ming Yingzong was born. In the third year of Xuande (1428), Yang entered the inner palace and served Ming Yingzong from a young age.

In the third year of the Jingtai reign (1452), she gave birth to Princess Chongde. In the first year of the Tianshun reign (1457), she was granted the title of Anfei (Peaceful and Peaceful Consort). In the eighth year of Tianshun (1464), Ming Yingzong, on his deathbed, instructed that the consorts should not be buried with him and arranged for their tombs. After Yingzong's death, Yang Anfei became a widow and mourned in solitude. She passed away in the twenty-second year of Chenghua (1486) at the age of 73. Her posthumous title was Zhuangxi Duansu (Solemn and Moderate, Upright, and Seri0us) and was buried at Jingshan.
