Introduction
Elizabeth Keet was the mother of James Cecil, 1st Marquess of Salisbury, a British politician and prime minister who lived from 1830 to 1903. Her son, James Cecil, held the title of Marquess of Salisbury and was a prominent figure in British Conservative politics. James Cecil's son, James Gascoyne-Cecil, became the 2nd Marquess of Salisbury, continuing the political legacy, and his son, Robert Gascoyne-Cecil, became the 3rd Marquess of Salisbury. Elizabeth Keet died in 1776.
