Introduction

Mianzhi (Chinese: 綿志; 3 May 1768 – 19 May 1834) was an imperial prince during the Qing dynasty and a grandson of the Qianlong Emperor.

He was born on 3 May 1768 as the eldest son of Yongxuan. His mother was Wang Yuying, who was a servant in the prince's manor. Throughout his life, Mianzhi held various noble titles. Initially, he was designated as a lesser bulwark duke until 1803, when he was promoted to the title of prince of the fourth rank. In 1805, his biological mother was posthumously given the title of secondary consort. Mianzhi's titles changed several times during his lifetime; in 1809, he was granted the title of third-ranking prince. He held the status of Prince of the Second Rank during two periods: from 1813 to 1815 and again from 1819 to 1823. In 1832, he inherited a peerage as a junwang, which is a prince of the second rank. Mianzhi died on 19 May 1834 and was posthumously awarded the title "Prince Yishun of the Second Rank" (多罗仪顺郡王), with "Yishun" meaning "virtuous and obedient."

Regarding his family, Mianzhi's primary consort was from the Gūwalgiya clan (嫡福晋瓜尔佳氏). His children with her included his first son and second son. He also had a secondary consort from the Ligiya clan (侧福晋 李佳氏), with whom he fathered at least two sons: Lesser Bulwark Duke Yiji, his third son, and Prince of the Third Rank Yiyin, his fourth son. Additionally, he had mistress(s) from the Li clan (庶福晋 李氏) and the An clan (庶福晋 安氏). One of his sons, Yicai, was adopted by Mianmin into the Prince Qing peerage.
