Introduction
Zhu Jun, born in 1964 in Lanzhou, Gansu Province. Influenced by his father early in life, he began studying clarinet performance in 1975. In 1981, Zhu Jun joined the military and, due to his musical talent, served as an actor in the army's amateur propaganda troupe. In 1984, he participated in the celebration of the 35th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China with the Chinese People's Liberation Army Concert Band, where he was inspected by national leaders and received a commendation from the Central Military Commission, being awarded third-class merit. In September 1985, after leaving the military, Zhu Jun was admitted to the Gansu Provincial Quyi Troupe and became a professional performer.
Zhu Jun's performing career began in 1988 when he was specially recruited into the Lanzhou Military Region Combat Song and Dance Troupe, where he performed as a cross-talk artist, giving over 500 shows for soldiers and the public in northwest China, and was awarded third-class merit once. In 1991, he joined Gansu TV Station, serving as the host for arts and entertainment programs, including the variety show "Blossoming Flowers and Full Moon." In 1993, Zhu Jun started hosting several arts programs on China Central Television (CCTV), including "East, West, South, North, and Center" and "Chinese Music Television."
Since 1997, Zhu Jun has been one of the hosts of CCTV's Spring Festival Gala, hosting this major event for many consecutive years, earning widespread acclaim. In the same year, the musical program "Rural Atmosphere" he hosted and produced won first place in the music category at the Golden Antenna TV Program Competition. In 1999, he won first place with a silver award in the nationwide Golden Microphone Program Host Competition. On December 22, 2000, he began hosting CCTV’s talk show "Art Life," which has become one of his signature programs.
From 2001 to the present, Zhu Jun has participated multiple times in major CCTV galas, such as the Lantern Festival Gala, Spring Festival Gala, and New Year's Eve Gala, hosting a variety of performances including cross-talk, sketches, and song-and-dance. He has won the China TV Golden Eagle Award for Best Program Host (2003) and received numerous social awards, including "中华慈善人物" (Chinese Charity Person of the Year). Zhu Jun has also performed prominently at major national celebrations and international events, such as the 100-day countdown to the Beijing Olympics and the first-anniversary celebration of the Beijing Olympics.
Regarding his family, Zhu Jun's wife is Tan Mei, a dancer who was recruited into the military in Xi'an in 1987. They officially married in 1993. On June 26, 2002, their son Zhu Sitian was born. Apart from his stage career, Zhu Jun is actively involved in calligraphy, painting, and social公益 activities, having held personal art exhibitions and received numerous national and industry awards.
