Introduction
Boggodo (Chinese: 博果鐸; Manchu: ᠪᠣᡴᡩᠠ), lived from 1650 to 1723. He was a member of the Manchu Aisin Gioro clan, a grandson of Hong Taiji, and the eldest son of Prince Chengzeyu Šose. He was also a paternal cousin of the Kangxi Emperor.
Born in 1650, Boggodo's mother was Lady Nara, the primary consort of Šose. In 1655, following his father's death, he inherited the peerage of Prince Chengze, which was titled "Prince Zhuang of the First Rank."
His family included a second daughter, Daokexin, who was raised within the imperial palace and was granted the title of Princess of the Third Rank. It was customary for a daughter of an imperial prince who was adopted into the imperial household to receive the title of imperial princess (gongzhu). This practice applied to Boggodo’s adopted granddaughter, who later became known as Princess Duanrou of the Second Rank.
Boggodo died in 1723. Posthumously, he was awarded the title Prince Zhuangjing of the First Rank (庄靖亲王), with "zhuangjing" translating to "dignified and quiet." Because he lacked a male heir, succession passed to Yunlu, a half-brother of the Yongzheng Emperor.
Regarding his family, Boggodo was married to a primary consort from the Chahar Borjigin clan, who was the daughter of Abunai. He also had several mistresses, including a mistress from the Shi clan (daughter of Shi Gui), a mistress from the Zhang clan (daughter of Zhang Wendi), and a mistress from the Zhou clan (daughter of Zhou Da).
His adopted son was Yunlu, who held the title of Prince Zhuangke of the First Rank (和硕庄恪亲王).
His issue included a first daughter who married Namuzha of the Barin league. His second daughter, Princess Daokexin, was born to Lady Borjigit, and before 1740, she married Abao of the Alxa Borjigin clan. They had three sons: Gumubuzao, Labucang Dorji, and Larjiwang.
