Introduction
Chengqing was born on March 21, 1670, and died on either April 18 or May 26, 1671. He was a son of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty, technically his third son, but he died prematurely and was not given a formal title. His biological mother was Noble Consort He. According to records from the Leap February on the ninth year of Kangxi's reign (February 1681), Kangxi was seventeen years old at that time. Chengqing shared the same mother as Yinting, making him Yinting’s half-brother.
In his youth, Chengqing did not assume any political responsibilities and there are no records of notable official titles or ceremonial activities during his lifetime. Regarding his cause of death and specific date of death, different historical sources cite conflicting information: some record that he died on April 18 of the tenth year of Kangxi's reign (1685), while others state he died on May 26 of that year. The primary reference for his biography is the "Four Genealogies of the Qing Imperial Family," which mainly documents imperial kinship and does not provide further detailed personal achievements. Consequently, Chengqing's life information is primarily limited to his birth, mother, his status as Yinting's half-brother, and his early death, with no records of official court appointments during his lifetime.
