Hu Xing'er, born on December 15, 1979, is a well-known actress and singer from Hong Kong. Her family background is middle class; her father is a civil servant who received a tuition subsidy for studying abroad, which gave her the opportunity to spend some time in Belfast, Northern Ireland. During her time in Northern Ireland, she became fluent in English. In 1999, Hu Xing'er completed the Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination and was admitted to the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology to study biochemistry.
