Introduction
Jiang Xiaoming was born in Dinghai, Zhejiang in 1953. He received higher education, graduating with a bachelor's degree from Beijing Foreign Studies University, and later obtained a master's and doctoral degree in economics from the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom.
In his professional career, Jiang Xiaoming was responsible for investment management of United Nations pension funds from 1992 to 1998. From 1998 to 2003, he founded Cyber Group in Hong Kong, focusing on investments in high-tech and infrastructure projects. In 2001, Cyber Group completed a merger and went public, with Jiang serving as the Chairman of the Group's Board of Directors. During this period, he also served as a director of BOCI IM (a fund management company jointly established by Merrill Lynch and Bank of China International) and SPG Land, a Hong Kong-listed company. Additionally, he was a trustee of the Cambridge China Development Foundation, a director of NASDAQ-listed Source Canada Corporation, an advisor to the U.S. Capital Group, and a senior researcher at Cambridge University's Business School.
In May 2004, Jiang Xiaoming was elected as an independent non-executive director of CNOOC Petroleum Services Co., Ltd. From April 2007, he served as an independent non-executive director of China COSCO Shipping International (Hong Kong) Co., Ltd. In June 2020, he was appointed as an independent non-executive director of China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation.
Furthermore, he has served as an advisor to the Texas Pacific Group in the United States and the UK-based Lochhill Investment Bank, as an independent non-executive director of Greenland Hong Kong Holdings Limited, and as an independent director of Sinopec.
In terms of social and public service, Jiang Xiaoming served as a specially invited member of the 11th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) from 2008 to 2013. In 2015, he served as a specially invited member of the Education Sector of the 12th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.
