Lady Rose Windsor

Lady Rose Victoria Birgitte Louise Gilman (née Windsor) was born on March 1, 1980, at St Mary's Hospital in London. She is the daughter of Prince Richard, Duke of Gloucester, and Birgitte, Duchess of Gloucester. As of September 2025, she is 39th in the line of succession to the British throne.

Her baptism took place on July 13, 1980, at Barnweill Church in Northamptonshire. Her godparents included Prince Edward and Lady Sarah Armstrong-Jones. Lady Rose attended St George's School in Ascot and spent her childhood residing in Kensington Palace.

Professionally, Lady Rose has worked as a film art assistant within the film industry. Her credits include roles in the production of "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix," "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince," "Margaret Thatcher: The Long Walk to Finchley," and the television series "Little Britain."

She has participated in public appearances at significant state events representing the extended royal family. Examples include attendance at the 2022 state funeral of Queen Elizabeth II and the 2023 coronation of King Charles III.

Lady Rose announced her engagement to businessman George Gilman on November 16, 2007. He is the son of a former Leeds United director. The couple married on July 19, 2008, at Queen’s Chapel in London. For her wedding, she wore a tiara belonging to her great-grandmother, Queen Mary, and a dress by Franka Couture. The wedding was attended by members of the royal family, including the Princess Royal and the Earl and Countess of Wessex. The event was notably not covered by Hello! magazine, as the couple declined an offer from the publication.

Lady Rose and George Gilman have two children: a daughter, Lyla Beatrix Christabel Gilman, born in 2010, who is 32nd in line to the throne, and a son, Rufus Gilman, born in 2012, who is 33rd in line to the throne.
