Rong Mingjie, male, born in 1969 in Beijing. His ancestral home is Wuxi City, Jiangsu Province. Regarding his educational background, he graduated from Shijiay Hutong Primary School before being admitted to Beijing No. 2 Middle School. After graduating from high school, he went to New York, USA, to study in the Political Science Department at Hofstra University, and completed his degree in 1992, returning to Hong Kong, China.
In his professional career, Rong Mingjie joined Citic Pacific in 1993, serving successively as Assistant Manager of the China Department, Deputy General Manager, and General Manager. Subsequently, he served as General Manager of the Real Estate Department and General Manager of the Corporate Development Department. To strengthen and expand investment operations across mainland China, in March 2000, he became a member of the board of directors of Citic Pacific and served as an Executive Director. Moreover, he was appointed Deputy Managing Director and became the youngest member among over one hundred executive directors.
In 2002, Rong Mingjie participated in the development of the real estate project "Lao Ximen New Garden" near Yuyuan in Shanghai, serving as General Manager of the property company. During the promotion of this project, he was responsible for researching and solving management issues, ensuring smooth progress through his dedication and sense of responsibility. In the summer of 2004, amid Shanghai’s record-breaking high temperatures, he worked on-site with his team, leading the project to sell out all units in a short period.
In terms of corporate management, Rong Mingjie also held important positions such as Chairman of Shanghai Citic Pacific Plaza Co., Ltd., Chairman of Shanghai Lao Ximen New Garden Property Co., Ltd., and Chairman of Citic Pacific (China) Investment Co., Ltd., becoming a significant heir to the Rong family’s business empire. In April 2005, he was appointed as an eighth-term member of the Jiangsu Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), and he has successfully been re-elected continuously since 2008.
Regarding his personal life, Rong Mingjie has never married and resides with his father, Rong Zhijian, in a luxurious residence at No. 75 Qianshuiwan Road. His family background is prominent in China’s business circles; his father is Rong Zhijian, and his grandfather is Rong Yi-ren. He was born during the Cultural Revolution, a period when his father and mother, Ren Shunmi, were exiled to Liangshan, Sichuan, for labor reform. Throughout his career and family background, Rong Mingjie maintains a low-key and pragmatic style, demonstrating focus and responsibility in the development and inheritance of his enterprise.
