Introduction
King Ning Hui Zhu Pan Shi, the first Ning King of the Ming Dynasty, was born on October 16, 1395, and died on February 23, 1437. His courtesy name was Zhuang Hui, and his posthumous title was Zhuang Hui. His father was Ning Xianwang Zhu Quan, a member of the Ming imperial family. Zhu Panshi was enfeoffed as Ning Prince of Successor during the leap month of the 28th year of Hongwu (1385). Later, in the first year of the Zhengtong era (1436), in the first month, he officially became Ning Wang. During his reign, he held no territory until his death at the age of 43. After his death, he was posthumously awarded the title Ningwang, with the posthumous name Hui.
Zhu Panshi’s mother was Consort Yu, who passed away in the 12th year of the Zhengtong era (1447). He had one full brother, Zhu Diangpei. His other concubines included Lady Zhou, who bore Zhu Diangge; Lady Zhao, who bore Zhu Diandu; and Lady Li, who bore Zhu Diulai. Zhu Panshi had one legitimate son, Jing Wang Zhu Diangpei, and four illegitimate sons: Rui Chang Gongxi Wang Zhu Diangge, Le An Zhao Ding Wang Zhu Diangli, Shi Cheng Gongjing Wang Zhu Diandu, and Yi Yang Rong Zhuang Wang Zhu Dianshi. His daughters included the eldest, Leping Princess (Yibin Yan Jie); the third, Ga'an County Princess (a marquis, Yibin Guo Qi); and the fifth, Dexing Princess (Yibin Dai Ying).
