Cornelius Van Schaak, who lived from 1734 to 1797, was an American businessman and the father of Maria Van Schaack Roosevelt. He was also the grandfather of Maria Van Schaack Roosevelt, who was born in 1773 and died in 1845. Through his family lineage, Cornelius Van Schaak is the ancestor of Theodore Roosevelt, the 26th President of the United States, who was the son of Theodore Roosevelt Sr., an American businessman.
