Melvinia Shields

Melvinia Shields, born around 1844 and passing in 1938, is the mother of Dolphus Theodore Shields, who lived from 1861 to 1950. She is the grandmother of Robert Lee Shields (1885), the great-grandmother of Purnell Nathaniel Shields (1910-1983), and the great-great-grandmother of Marian Shields Robinson, who is the mother of Michelle Obama. Michelle Obama, a lawyer and former First Lady of the United States, is married to Barack Obama, who served as President from 2009 to 2017.
