Rong Zhixin, the eldest son of Rong Desheng and grandson of Rong Weiren, was born in China. He lost his father at a young age and migrated with his family to Hong Kong at the age of 15. After graduating in electronic engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the United States, he began his career as an engineer at American Telephone and became gradually involved in the business world.

Early in his career, he made his first fortune by investing in a tobacco agency company. Seizing the opportunity of the rise of the computer industry, he founded Rong Wen Technology Co., Ltd. in 1975, which successfully went public in 1982, marking a new chapter in his business career.

Rong Zhixin co-founded Ai Ka Electronics Factory with his brother Rong Zhiyan and invited their cousin Rong Zhijian to join, achieving considerable profits. During the internet boom around 2000, he transformed Rong Wen Technology into Fangzheng Digital through collaborations with Fangzheng Holdings, Yahoo, and NetEase. Although the transformation was not entirely successful, he served as Honorary Chairman and Non-Executive Director of Fangzheng Digital for many years.

Rong Zhixin also established Hong Kong Haorong Group and MerYa International Health Organization, among others. His achievements rank just below that of his cousin Rong Zhijian and make him an important figure in the fourth generation of the Rong family’s business circle.
