Jennie Elizabeth Eisenhower was born on August 15, 1978, in San Clemente, California. She is the daughter of Julie Nixon Eisenhower and David Eisenhower. Her maternal grandparents were Richard Nixon, the 37th President of the United States, and First Lady Pat Nixon. Her paternal great-grandparents included Dwight D. Eisenhower, the 34th President, and First Lady Mamie Eisenhower.
Eisenhower was raised near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She completed her high school education at Conestoga High School. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, graduating summa cum laude. Her siblings include a brother, Alex Richard Eisenhower, born in 1980, and a sister, Melanie Catherine Eisenhower, born in 1984.
In 1996, Eisenhower was presented as a debutante at the International Debutante Ball held at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City.
Her career has encompassed acting, directing, and teaching. Eisenhower has performed in Off-Broadway productions and regional theaters across the United States. She has been recognized with seven Barrymore Award nominations and has received two awards: Best Actress in a Musical in 2009 for her role in Forbidden Broadway's Greatest Hits, and Best Supporting Actress in a Musical in 2004 for The Wild Party.
Her other stage performances include roles in Show Boat at the Media Theatre (nominated for a Barrymore in 2010), The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee at Theatre Horizon (2011), Little Women at Bristol Riverside Theatre (2011), A Grand Night for Singing at the Walnut Street Theatre (2012), Parade at the Arden Theatre (2013), Bullets Over Broadway (2018), Passion at the Arden Theatre (2015), Kiss Me, Kate (2014), Hello, Dolly! She has also directed plays including 1776, Falsettos, and Always...Patsy Cline in the Philadelphia region.
Eisenhower has appeared in minor roles in several films, including Mona Lisa Smile (2003), Arthur (2011), and The Suspect (2013). She taught theater as an adjunct faculty member at Temple University.
In her work as an author, she narrated the audiobook version of her mother Julie Nixon Eisenhower’s 2007 book about Pat Nixon, titled "Pat Nixon: The Untold Story."
In her personal life, Eisenhower married Anthony (Tony) Cheslock in 2011, with whom she has a daughter. They divorced in 2017. In October 2020, she married Sara Neville. Politically, she is affiliated with the Democratic Party and voted for Barack Obama in 2012.
