Introduction
Sir Robert McAlpine, 1st Baronet, was the son of Robert McAlpine, the founder of a British construction firm who lived from 1847 to 1934. Roberta Ida Freeman McAlpine, the daughter of Sir Robert McAlpine, 1st Baronet, was born in 1898 and died in 1966. She was married to Richard Lloyd George, the 2nd Earl Lloyd-George of Dwyfor, who was a soldier and politician and the son of David Lloyd George, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1916 to 1922.
