Introduction
Takeo Kishida (born June 17, 1960) is a Japanese businessman. He serves as the CEO of Feel Japan with K Co., Ltd. and is a director of the Japan Registered Support Organization Association, a general incorporated association.
He was born in Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, and graduated from Keio University with a degree in Political Science from the Faculty of Law. During his university years, he was a member and representative of the debate club. Further details about his academic background have not been disclosed.
His career is extensive and varied. In 1985, he joined Mitsubishi Corporation and was assigned to the Energy Business Division. There, he held positions such as leader of the Lubricants Team, leader of the Industrial Fuels Team, and served as a director of Petro Diamond Japan. During his tenure, he was stationed in Kuwait and Malaysia, gaining international work experience.
In 2009, he founded Feel Japan with K Co., Ltd., a travel company catering to Muslim travelers, and became its CEO. Starting in 2010, he expanded his business to include services accepting Muslim clients. Additionally, he is based at a head office located in Chuo, Nakano City, Tokyo, engaging in activities to support foreign recruitment under the Specific Skills visa system, for which his organization is registered as an approved support organization (Registration Number: 20-005429). Utilizing this system, he also supports Indonesian workers seeking employment in Japan.
He has also acquired a travel agency license, registered with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, with travel agency registration number 3-6242. His company mainly plans and manages inbound travel from Southeast Asia and the Middle East.
Politically, he is the brother of Fumio Kishida, the 100th and 101st Prime Minister of Japan. He has expressed skeptical opinions regarding government initiatives such as accepting 300,000 international students annually, questioning whether they are driven by profit motives.
A notable episode in his past involves his participation in the 1983 Mita Festival, where, as a representative of the Keio University Debate Club, he was involved in inviting the former president of Mitsukoshi, Morihiro Okada, as a lecturer for a lecture event. Okada had been dismissed following the “Mitsukoshi Incident” the previous year. Initially, the invitation attempted through Mitsukoshi affiliates and alumni failed, but eventually Kishida directly appealed via a letter, leading to the successful invitation.
His family background includes his father, Bunbu Kishida (1926–1992), a civil servant and politician in the Ministry of International Trade and Industry, and his mother, Sumiko (1931–2020), a graduate of Tsuda College. His older brother is Fumio Kishida (born 1957), the former Prime Minister. His sister-in-law is the eldest daughter of Kunjiro Wada, Yuuko. His nephew, Shōtarō, who has worked in Brazil and Tokyo and served as a staff member for the Prime Minister, is an alumnus of Keio University.
His ancestral origins trace back to Okuyamura in Kamo District, Hiroshima Prefecture (now Shiwa-cho, Higashihiroshima City). His great-grandfather, Ikutarō, born in 1887, was a businessman. His grandfather Masaki (born 1895) was involved in real estate and department store management and also engaged in political activities.
