Cissy Wang

Wang Shishi, born in 1980, is a Canadian woman of Chinese descent. Her early experiences include participating in the 2000 Miss Chinese Toronto pageant organized by New Age Television, where she won three titles. She moved to Canada with her parents as a child; her parents worked in the jewelry business and were respected in the trade as the “Diamond King of Canada.” Wang Shishi was also regarded as the “apple of the Diamond King’s eye.” Because her family’s jewelry business was large in scale, her personal wealth is considerable.

In 2001, Wang Shishi entered the Miss Chinese International pageant organized by Hong Kong’s Television Broadcasts Limited (TVB), but did not win and ultimately did not advance. She married Hong Kong martial arts star Donnie Yen in August 2003. The two, who had known each other for only three months, held a low-key and intimate wedding. Their married life has been relatively quiet; they have a son and a daughter, and their family life has been described by outsiders as loving and harmonious.

Regarding their marriage, Donnie Yen once said in an interview that he is “strictly managed by his wife.” He gives his wife several thousand Hong Kong dollars per month as living expenses, and their relationship has remained stable. Wang Shishi and Donnie Yen raise their children together and often appear in public, showing their family happiness. In 2013 they celebrated their tenth wedding anniversary and took wedding photos, demonstrating a long-standing emotional foundation.

Financially, Donnie Yen’s wealth increased significantly due to his role in the Ip Man film series; his 2012 income reached 115 million RMB, placing him at the top of Forbes China’s celebrity list. In 2013, Donnie Yen purchased an independent house worth 135 million HKD for his wife, which the media reported as an investment in the family’s future. Wang Shishi has spoken publicly about balancing family life and career, emphasizing investments for their children’s future and the importance of paying the mortgage.

Wang Shishi is also active in social welfare. In July 2021, she and Donnie Yen donated 1 million RMB to support relief efforts for the Henan flood disaster. On September 20, 2020, she posted on social media announcing the death of her father. Wang Shishi’s life centers on her family background, marriage, and charitable activities, reflecting a varied and stable personal history.
