Introduction

Princess Yunhe (1584–1590), named Zhu Xuan Shu, was a princess of the Ming Dynasty. She was the second daughter of Emperor Shenzong of Ming and the full sister of Emperor Gongzong. Her mother was Consort Zheng. The princess was born in the eleventh year of Wanli (January 9, 1584, by the lunar calendar). Emperor Shenzong celebrated her birth generously, rewarding the officials of the cabinet, awarding 100,000 taels of silver to the Grand Secretariat to organize the celebration, and elevating her mother Zheng from Virtuous Consort to Noble Consort. Princess Yunhe died in the eleventh month of the seventeenth year of Wanli (November 1589), at the age of only seven. She was buried together with her half-sister Princess Jingle, Princess Yunmeng, Princess Xianju, and her full sister Princess Lingqiu at Jinshan.
