Introduction
Ha-shan, born in 1676 and died in 1743, was the third son of Prince Gong of the Qing Dynasty's Shizhu family. In the 34th year of Kangxi (1695), Ha-shan was conferred the title of Feng'enjiangjun. In the 42nd year of Kangxi (1703), his father Changning passed away, and Ha-shan succeeded to the princely rank of Beile. In the 51st year of Kangxi (1712), he was demoted from his noble title due to indulging improper conduct by internal officials, and his elder brother Manduhuo succeeded him as Beile. During Manduhuo's tenure, he committed numerous offenses, and in the 4th year of Yongzheng (1726), he was downgraded from Beile to Bozi, and later further demoted to Zhen Guo Gong. In the 9th year of Yongzheng (1731), Manduhuo died, and Ha-shan’s grandson Fisu succeeded as Beile. In the 10th year of Yongzheng (1732), Ha-shan was restored to the rank of Beile. He died in the 8th year of Qianlong (1743), and was posthumously awarded the epithets Ximin.
Regarding his family, Ha-shan’s great-grandson Jin Chang belonged to the Shengjing general’s noble family. The above records and dates can be found in the "Draft History of Qing" (Qingshi Gao), Vol. 219, Biographies Six, and Vol. 163, Table Three.
