Introduction
John Tyler, Sr., served as a United States federal judge from 1747 to 1813. He was the father of John Tyler, who served as the President of the United States from 1841 to 1845, and also the grandfather of John Tyler Jr. The latter, born approximately between 1710 and 1715 in Williamsburg, died in 1773.
