Introduction

Wang Yuanyuan entered the entertainment industry in 1998. Her first television series was Beijing City Pursuit Team (京城缉捕队), in which she played Wu Miaomiao at the age of 12. In 1999 she starred as the lead in the costume drama The Eight Eccentrics of Yangzhou (扬州八怪), directed by Zhou Kangyu. In 2000 she appeared as Du Xiaofeng in the romance drama Star Dream Lovers (星梦恋人), and in the same year joined the TV series A Tale of Two Generations of Love and Grudge (情怨两代人), playing Wu Xiaohua.

In 2002, she starred in the wuxia drama Wind and Cloud (风云), directed by Xu Jinliang, a series whose plot centers on the feuds and upheavals among Bo Jingyun, Nie Feng, and other martial-arts figures. In 2003 she starred in the family ethics drama A Beautiful Mind (美丽心灵) and, in the costume drama The Golden Sword Carved Plumage (金剑雕翎), she portrayed Madam Jin Hua (金花夫人). In 2004 she appeared in the costume comedy A Jar of Vinegar Through the Ages (千古风流一坛醋) as Princess Changping; that same year she acted in Tsui Hark’s New Daomadan (新刀马旦), playing Xiu Feng (秀凤).

In 2006 she participated in the television drama Dashilan (大栅栏), directed by Fu Jingsheng. On August 3, 2007, she appeared in the film Fuse (导火线), playing the policewoman Xiao Ying (小樱). In 2008 she acted in the film On the Road of Life and Death (生死路上).

In 2011 she consecutively starred in the TV series Snow-Bright Military Knife (雪亮军刀), directed by Zhou Kangyu, and that year joined the sixth installment of the Happy Events film series, The Strongest Happy Event (喜事系列影片第六部《最强囍事》). In 2012, she played Pan Yanchun in the war-themed TV series The Xiangxi Memoirs of Gratitude and Grudges (湘西恩仇记), directed by Liu Fengsheng; the drama is the first part of the Xiangxi Trilogy. In 2014 she starred in the live-action 3D IMAX film Journey to the West: Havoc in Heaven (西游记之大闹天宫), portraying the Fairy Caiyun (彩云仙子).

Personal life:

In April 2009 she began dating Fang Zhenwen, but they later split. In February 2011 she began dating Cai Jiazan, the son of Cai Zhiming; the couple married on November 30, 2013, and on September 6, 2014 they welcomed a daughter. On January 18, 2016 she gave birth to twins again. Her sister Wang Shishi is the wife of Donnie Yen (甄子丹); their parents run a jewelry business.
