Huang Junzheng

Huang Junzhen, birth and death dates unknown, was married to Dong Biwu. The couple held their wedding in 1910 in the bedroom of Dong Biwu's former residence. The wedding room was simply decorated, furnished only with a bed and two wooden crates. Shortly after their marriage, Dong Biwu dedicated himself to revolutionary activities and left his hometown. Huang Junzhen remained behind, living alone, but always prioritized the revolutionary cause and actively supported her husband's work.

In the 1910s, Huang Junzhen gave birth to a son, who, however, died before reaching one year of age. With the outbreak of the Xinhai Revolution, the national situation became turbulent, and Huang Junzhen and Dong Biwu's family parts gradually separated. Afterwards, Huang Junzhen lived a difficult life; due to the grief of losing her son and prolonged worries, her eyesight gradually faded. She passed away in 1943, age unknown. Records indicate she died lonely and ill in February 1943.

Upon learning of his wife's death, Dong Biwu was deeply grief-stricken. He wrote a poem titled "In Remembrance of My Wife" in Chongqing to express his sorrow. The poem conveys his deep remembrance of his wife and guilt for not having been able to care for her properly, highlighting the profound emotional bond between them.

The bedroom where Huang Junzhen and Dong Biwu married is located in the main house of Dong Biwu's former residence, now preserved as a cultural relic. Restored to reflect its original appearance in 1910, the room is simply but solemnly furnished and has become an important site commemorating Dong Biwu's life. This space not only holds historical value but also testifies to their early married life and modest living environment.
