Introduction

Baotai (保泰), born on 13 May 1682, and deceased on 29 September 1730, was a Manchu prince during the Qing Dynasty. He held the title Prince Yu of the First Rank (裕親王). He was the son of Fuquan and the grandson of Emperor Shunzhi.

Family background and lineage are documented through various genealogical sources, including the Aisin Gioro Genealogy and the Draft History of Qing (Vol. 2), which include biographical information and family relations.

Baotai was married to multiple consorts from different clans. His primary consort belonged to the Menggiya clan, with whom he had three sons: Guangshan (born 20 August 1697, died 22 October 1745), who was designated as Heir Son; Guang'en (born 27 October 1699, died 24 June 1739); and Guanghua (born 16 October 1704, died 1741). Guanghua was granted the title Duke of the Second Rank (奉恩輔國公).

His second primary consort was from the Gūwalgiya clan. They had at least five sons: Guangyu (14 June 1708–1735), Guanghui (4 June 1709–1712), Guangguo (1710–28 February 1712), Guangnian (20 December 1713–1774), and Guangxiu (27 March 1710–1712).

Baotai's third primary consort was from the Šumuru clan; however, specific offspring from this marriage are not detailed in the available records.

In addition to his primary consorts, Baotai had several mistresses from various clans, including the Wu, Liu, Tian, Gūwalgiya, Zhu, Xiang, Guo, Shi, Jiang, Wang, Li, and other families. His children born to these mistresses include numerous sons, with recorded names such as Guangsheng (1720–26 May 1741), Guanghan (11 April 1723–26 March 1725), Guangying (1720–1767), Guanggui (15 May 1705–29 July 1750), Guangyun (17 October 1715–1756), Guangkun (14 March 1724–18 June 1786), Guangxian (1725–1727), Guangji (14 June 1727–1774), Guangqiu (11 October 1728–1729), Guangchun (22 August 1725–1731), Guangzhao (14 April 1728–23 March 1729), Guangrui (1730–1736), among others.

Baotai's offspring held various titles and positions within the Qing imperial hierarchy, indicating their integration into the aristocratic structure. The detailed genealogical records elaborate on the familial relationships, offspring, and their dates of birth and death, providing insights into the princely lineage of the Qing Dynasty.
