Introduction

Daigo Naitō (内藤 大湖, Naitō Daigo), born April 8, 1978, in Nakano, Tokyo, Japan, is a Japanese artist involved in multiple entertainment fields. His professional activities include singing, songwriting, acting, television hosting, and voice acting.

Early Life and Education:

Daigo lived in Ichikawa, Chiba Prefecture, from age three until the summer of his third grade of elementary school. Following his maternal grandfather, Noboru Takeshita, becoming the Prime Minister of Japan, he relocated back to Tokyo. He attended Tamagawa Gakuen and later enrolled in Tamagawa University’s Department of Arts, though he did not complete his studies.

Family:

His older sister is Eiko Naitō, a manga artist known as Eiki Eiki. Daigo married actress Keiko Kitagawa, recognized for her role as Sailor Mars in the live-action adaptation of Sailor Moon, on January 11, 2016. The couple’s first daughter was born on September 7, 2020. On September 25, 2023, they announced they were expecting a second child, and their second child, a son, was born on January 31, 2024.

Music Career:

Daigo developed an interest in music at an early age, initially listening to the Japanese rock band Boøwy and attempting to learn classical guitar before switching to the electric guitar. He was also a fan of B'z, a major Japanese rock duo, and formed a cover band for them during high school. During his third year of high school, he began voice training and formed the band JZEIL, which performed publicly at school festivals and gained popularity primarily for its visual style, including blond hair, makeup, and costumes. Despite prospects for a professional debut, JZEIL disbanded on September 25, 2001.

Following the disbandment, Daigo adopted the stage name "Daigo with the space toys" and debuted as a solo artist. On July 21, 2003, he launched his career as "DAIGO☆STARDUST," inspired by David Bowie’s Ziggy Stardust persona, with assistance from photographer Katou Masonori.
