Song Baoying

Song Baoying, a woman, of Beijing origin and born in Tianjin. She graduated from the Department of Mathematics at Fudan University, and spent many years in engineering technology, holding the position of senior engineer. She passed away in Beijing at 1:39 p.m. on February 6, 2022, at the age of 82.

In her family life, her spouse was Cai Bo, born in 1924 and died in 1991, a renowned Chinese metallurgist. Cai Bo was the son of Cai Hesen and Xiang Jingyu. Song Baoying had one daughter, Cai Nan, who works in financial services and is a member of the Communist Party of China.

In her later years, Song Baoying devoted herself to the preservation and transmission of revolutionary culture. In terms of historical materials preservation, she supplied a large amount of Xiang Jingyu-related materials to Xiupu County, Hunan Province, and participated in guiding the construction of Xiang Jingyu’s former residence and memorial hall. In the realm of revolutionary film and television, she assisted in the script development of the TV series Xiang Jingyu, providing support with historical details. In patriotic education, on October 16, 2015, she and Jiao Yang, vice chairperson of the All-China Women’s Federation, jointly unveiled the National Women’s Patriotic Education Base.
