Introduction
Henry Wilson was born on 27 August 1797 and died on 8 June 1866. He was a British politician affiliated with the Liberal Party. Wilson holds the distinction of being the only Liberal politician elected for the Western division of Suffolk.
In the 1835 general election, Wilson was elected to the House of Commons as one of the two Members of Parliament representing West Suffolk. He served in this capacity during the parliamentary session that followed his election.
Wilson contested the subsequent 1837 general election but was not successful in retaining his seat. Following this defeat, he did not stand for Parliament in any later elections.
Throughout his political career, Wilson was involved in parliamentary debates and activities, with records of his contributions maintained in Hansard, the official report of debates in the UK Parliament, covering the years from 1803 to 2005.
