James Riggs

James Riggs, born on November 9, 1758, and who died on September 22, 1839, was the father of George Riggs, born December 4, 1786, and deceased on July 24, 1851. George Riggs was the father of Maria Riggs, born September 12, 1806, and who died on January 4, 1895. Maria Riggs was the mother of Royal Houghton Doud, born February 6, 1836, in Turin, New York, and who died on November 13, 1901. Royal Houghton Doud was the father of John Sheldon Doud, born November 10, 1870, in Boone, Iowa, and who passed away on June 20, 1951, in Denver, Colorado. John Sheldon Doud was a meatpacking executive with investments in Illinois and Iowa stockyards, retiring at the age of 36, and was married to Elivera Mathilda Carlson. Their descendant Mamie Eisenhower, daughter of John Sheldon Doud, was the First Lady of the United States from 1953 to 1961, married to President Dwight D. Eisenhower.
