Introduction
Yan Jinsheng (1918 – March 28, 1994), was a native of Chaling, Hunan Province. He was a general in the People's Liberation Army of China and an inaugural major general of the People's Liberation Army.
He served as the commander and political commissar of the artillery forces of the Lanzhou Military Region of the People's Liberation Army, and was later transferred to serve as the political commissar of the First Military Region. In 1955, he was awarded the rank of major general in the People's Liberation Army.
