Introduction
Anne Fairfax (1728–1761) was the daughter of Colonel William Fairfax and the wife of Lawrence Washington. Lawrence Washington was an American soldier, planter, politician, and prominent landowner in colonial Virginia; he was also the half-brother of George Washington and the son of Augustine Washington. Augustine Washington (1694–1743) was a British-American planter, slave owner, and the father of George Washington.
