Introduction

Zhong Xiaoping is a mainland Chinese female singer. In the 1980s, she collaborated with Wu Yongfa to release a disco duet album titled The Beating Flame (跳动的火焰), and later issued a solo album Blue Memories (青色的回忆). Her notable works include Your Tears (你的泪), Wandering in the Rain (雨中徘徊), and Moonlight Disco (月光迪斯科). She was one of the first mainland artists to publicly perform Teresa Teng's songs on stage, and her performances were pioneering at the time.

In the early 1990s, after divorcing Huofeng, she raised her son Hu Zun by herself and left the stage at the peak of her career. According to 2014 sources, after Hu Zun won Chinese Good Songs (《中国好歌曲》), he publicly stated that his mother played a crucial guiding role in his musical growth. After stepping away from the stage, Zhong Xiaoping dedicated herself to caring for Hu Zun, providing important support and guidance in his musical career; his achievements are partly attributed to his mother's influence.

Regarding her comeback and later activities, in January 2016 she held the symphonic concert Love Is Like a Song in Shanghai, with Hu Zun as a guest. On May 7 of the same year, she organized a Teresa Teng tribute concert, commemorating Teng’s 21st death anniversary and coinciding with Zhong Xiaoping’s birthday. In 2021, she took part in a Mother’s Day special on the TV show Day Day Up (天天向上), marking her public stage return.
